Corpora Aliena @ IKLECTIK - 'I'LL SHOW YOU MY G-STRING'
Corpora Aliena at Iklectik: ‘Collaboration and Creativity’ Saturday 14 July
Photographs of Lola de la Mata by Mischa Haller. All other photographs by, myself.
Corpora Aliena is pleased to present a concert of experimental music based on the theme of ‘Collaboration and Creatiivity.
Using as a starting point Brian Eno’s concept of ‘scenious’ or collective intelligence, the concert will feature musicians and producers who have developed projects using a collaborative approach. Featured artists include Steph Horak and Liz Helman, who will perform a new collaborative work; Bernhard Living will present his digitally-based composition ‘Violin Stories’, made in collaboration with the Serbian musician Manja Ristić, with video by the Russian video artist Elvira Zhagun; and the duo Gardner and Salnikov will perform a dark ambient multimedia set using a wide range of devices including circuit bent DIY machines and video projection of contemplative imagery, CGI creatures and landscapes. In addition to the live performances, there will be a screening of ‘Eight Bedtime Stories’ by the Belgian duo Kraken (Joris Vermost and Ricardo Gomez), and guest-curated by the Moscow-based Dasha Birukova. Also included in the concert is the the London-based French musician Lola de la Mata, who will be performing with a mix of voice, violin, live electronics.
The concert is an exciting opportunity to see and hear some of the leading musicians and artists who are working at the cutting-edge, and who are part of today’s experimental music and contemporary arts scene.

ALBUM RELEASE - REMISE EN BOUCHE
FREE DOWNLOAD HERE:
http://www.panyrosasdiscos.net/pyr245-lola-de-la-mata-remise-en-bouche/
REMISE EN BOUCHE, which translates as palate cleanser, or in the mouth, is both an act of refreshment for the ears, and a commentary on the misogyny women experience in the creative industries.
The album combines field recordings, classical rifts, untrained voice, violin, and transformed feedback noise. the layers co exist, tangle, overlap, to form a textured sonic world, full of movement, with sounds appearing and receding into dark voids.
Everything you hear in this album was generated acoustically either with instrumentation or concrete sound sources.

Liminal Mass
Thu 1 February 2018
19:00 – 21:00 GMT
Location - Nunnery Gallery, Bow Arts, EG-1 Project space
An evening of live performance examining our bodies' relationship to their surrounding environment incorporating movement, sound, process & film. The performances will flow between one another exploring space and boundaries, from chanting and bodies merged through cloth to explorations of time and live mono printing. In conjunction with the Nunnery Gallery's First Thursday late opening of exhibition Art for the Environment (6-9pm), Liminal Mass performances will start at 7pm in EG-1 project space next door. Free.
Six multi-discipline female artists: Alys Hughes, Bettina Fung, Ingrid Pumayalla, Karen Le Roy Harris, Lola De la Mata, and Miriam Sedacca come together in four performances: Skein, Icaros para sanar, I am tired with you and Water’s breath.
Skein (Collaboration - Alys Hughes, Karen Le Roy Harris, Miriam Sedacca and Lola De la Mata)
An experimental performance uniting sounds and movement, skin and cloth. Skein explores the boundaries of subjectivity through both the individual and collective experience of the body and the dynamic and physical experiences of these relationships, questioning the idea of skin as a boundary which separates us from the world and from others. Supported by the ArtHouse Jersey.
I am tired with you (Bettina Fung)
A large scale and potentially collective mono printing act that questions our competitive, goal oriented and achievement obsessed tendencies and contemplates the value of non-doing. Bettina will spend time and “do nothing” on a large blank sheet of paper with a layer of ink underneath. All are welcome to join her on the paper.
Icaros para sanar (Ingrid Pumayalla)
Chanting Icaros melodies that are learned and sung by Shamans during rituals to performed healing in Perú. During her performance Ingrid will project a video and install objects around her.
Water’s breath (Miriam Sedacca)
Created during a residency in the Peruvian Amazon, this performance considers fluidity as both a medium and mode of being in which bodies are permeable and shared spaces.
SKEIN - at Jersey Opera House
An experimental performance uniting sound and movement, skin and cloth. Skein explores the boundaries of subjectivity through both the individual and collective experience of the body and the dynamic and physical experiences of these relationships, questioning the idea of skin as a boundary which separates us from the world and from others. Skein is being developed as part of a collaboration between four artists: dancer Alys Hughes, visual artists Karen Le Roy Harris and Miriam Sedacca, and visual and sound artist Lola de la Mata.
Please join the artists as they share their latest developments following support through the ArtHouse Jersey residency programme.
